Here are some options for schools leading up to GCSEs and offering vocational dance training. This is not a fully comprehensive list and we will be adding to it as we uncover more schools

The Government provides funding for dance (and music) tuition at specially designated centres of excellence and awards are available at those schools.

What if you are talented enough to get  into Tring Park, Elmhurst or The Hammond, but are not albe to secure an MDS award? Where do you go from here?

Here is a list of schools that are part of the Learning and Skills Council Dance and Drama Award scheme for pupils aged 16+ and the vocational qualifications they offer. We have only listed schools that offer either dance or musical theatre or both. Clicking the name of the school will open their website in a new window.

The Independent Schools Council offers advice on School Fee Assistance with several links to scholarships and bursaries available to pupils being educated within the Independent Schools sector as well as Government grants, Local Authority grants and grant giving Trusts.

If you are looking for other sources for independent school education funding, the Educational Trust's Forum is a list of Trusts specifically funding private education and boarding and is an excellent starting point. They may or may not help you with funding dance education specifically but have a look at the criteria for applying to each Trust to see if it is suitable for you.
